I've seen your ads in the Daily Gazette and had a few ideas for you...

Idea #1...Don't waste money advertising to "me".

I live in Ballston Spa where I received your ad in the Gazette...27 minutes away from your physical location.

Very few if any people are going to travel from here to there just to visit you.

Most restaurant visitors come from 3-5 miles away from the restaurant.
.
Any money spent to reach people outside that area is wasted.
.
Idea #2...Make a STRONG offer.
.
You have no way of knowing how your ad did.
.
No way to track the effectiveness.
.
Ad sales reps LOVE that.
.
They don't want you to know how poorly it did.
.
They'll say it got you a ton of "exposure".
.
You should follow that up with, "people DIE of exposure!"
.
They'll tell you someone needs to see your ad 7 to 9 times before they take action.
.
Maybe for a car but not food.
.
We eat 3 times a day.
.
It doesn't take that much motivation to get us to eat.

Make a STRONG offer that gets people to try your place.
.
I would have tested a $10 Gift Certificate.

"Bring in this gift certificate in the next 14 days to get $10 off your bill."

Doing this removes all doubt about the effectiveness of the ad.

How many coupons did you get in those 14 days?

Did your ad make money?
.
Yes or No...end of discussion.

Don't run the same ad again...change something...test a $20 gift certificate.

If you're going to run any ad, have a strong offer and a deadline.

Idea #3... Add a QR Code to your ad...
.
Make an attempt to get the people who see your ad to give your their contact info.
.
A QR code should open their TEXTING app and send you a text.
.

Why?

So that you have a way to KEEP IN TOUCH.

Once they reply with Y, they get something like this...

Hundreds and maybe thousands of people saw your ad.

How much business did it bring you?

How do you reach the people who THOUGHT..."I should try that place out?"

They are GONE...to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok or any of the other ways people are distracted these days.

Building a TEXT list from your advertising gives people a quick and easy way to say "I'm interested...keep in touch".

Then, anytime you need more business, send a text....like these companies do...

Send a text around when people are thinking of eating.

With texting you control WHEN your ad is seen unlike print or social media ads.

How fast do you look at your phone when a text comes in...same as everybody.

Have a sign that says something like...

Make a sign like for the restaurant...and encourage your staff to get people on the list so that you can keep in touch with your most important prospect...the people who have ALREADY been a customer.

They've demonstrated a willingness and ability to visit you and give you money. You need to keep in touch with those people.
